Young players of brass, string and woodwind instruments are invited to attend a free workshop on Saturday 29 February 2020.

The workshop will be led by members of the Norfolk Music Service teaching team and special guest players from the London Mozart Players.

DATE: Saturday 29 February 2020

TIME: Arrival from 9.30am / Workshop 10.00am
The day will conclude with a performance at 3.15pm to which family and friends are invited. Ends 4pm approx.

VENUE: Auden Theatre, Gresham’s Senior School, Holt, NR25 6EA

COST: This workshop is free of charge. Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis, however children in the North Norfolk area will be given priority

STANDARD: Open to string, woodwind and brass players of approx. Grade 1-4 standard

MUSIC: We will provide you with music to work on with your  teacher ahead of the workshop, which will include easy arrangements of pieces being performed by the London  Mozart Player’s on Friday 28 February (see here >>).

You will need to bring:

  • your instrument
  • a pencil
  • music for the workshop if you have been given any
  • a packed lunch, snacks and drinks to last the day
  • book/small game for breaks
  • dress for the performance – black trousers/skirt and a white top (t shirt/polo shirt are fine)

PLEASE NOTE – we are unable to provide transport for this workshop. Please collect children promptly at the end. Closing date for registrations is Friday 24 January. You will be informed after this date if your registration has not been accepted. Music for the workshop will be issued on receipt of your registration before the February half-term holiday.

London Mozart Players will be performing a public concert, also in the Auden Theatre, on Friday 28 February 2020, at 7.30pm. The programme will feature repertoire also appearing at the workshop, including the Rondo from Mozart’s Horn Concerto No. 4, which is also featured on BBC Ten Pieces.

We are pleased to be able to offer complimentary tickets for the concert to those attending the workshop, along with their families. These complimentary tickets can be reserved on the workshop registration form. To enable as many people as possible to be able to take full advantage of this opportunity, places are limited to three per family.
