Norfolk Centre for Young Musicians is open to instrumentalists and singers aged 8 – 18. The open day is an excellent opportunity to see what goes on at NCYM, to find out more about their ensembles, classes, and offers the potential to audition for 2020 entry. The next Norfolk Centre for Young Musicians Open Day will be on Saturday 8 February at City of Norwich School.
The Open Day will include:
- A Samba/Percussion workshop and performance by a visiting 7-piece Samba Band from Guildhall School of Music & Drama, London.
- Opportunities to meet NCYM staff and students and see them in action
- Information on individual lessons available
The timetable for the day will be as follows (subject to change):
09.45 – 10.00 Welcome and introductions
10.15 – 11.00 Percussion workshop for students who have some previous experience of playing an instrument or singing. Aimed at age 9 upwards.
11.15 – 11.45 Concert by the Guildhall Samba Band
12.15 -13.00 Introduction to Samba Workshop for primary school pupils Years 3 – 6
