Open to all of Norfolk’s Secondary School vocalists and Norfolk Music Service Ensemble Players in secondary or higher education; this project will see the participants learn and perform music ranging across many genres. These include opera, oratorio, spirituals as well as classic and contemporary pop music.
Our first digital offering is to be Feeling Good by Nina Simone. This will be arranged for students by David Stowell and the Come and Sing Company.
‘Freedom!’ will encompass secondary school musicians, from all over the county, performing a unique programme of music specifically chosen to reflect the need for physical, emotional and expressive freedom after lockdown.
Vocal students from across the county will work with The Come and Sing Company through weekly online workshops to master the vocal parts in SAB. At the end of the term students will be asked to submit recordings either audio only or audio and visual for a virtual collaboration with the Instrumental players. Vocalists will meet online every Tuesday at 5pm starting on the 6th October.
Ensemble students will have access to online tutorials and music to practice before being asked to submit recordings of their parts for an virtual collaboration with the Instrumental players. This will be under the direction of Mr Stowell and Norfolk Music Service ensemble leads.
