On Thursday 9 November 2017, hundreds of singers and musicians from across Norfolk joined forces to perform an atmospheric version of Carl Orff’s ‘O fortuna’ as part of the High Schools’ Choir Festival at St Andrew’s Hall, Norwich.

‘O fortuna’ is included in the third series of BBC Ten Pieces, and educational settings nationwide are encouraged to send in their creative responses to the repertoire. We are delighted that the video of the performance has been featured on the BBC Ten Pieces online creative showcase – watch the video here >>

The mass choir featured pupils from: Caister Academy, City of Norwich School (An Ormiston Academy), Flegg High School, Framingham Earl High School, Hethersett Old Hall School, Notre Dame High School, Norwich School, Stalham High School, Thetford Grammar School, and Wymondham College. Accompanying the choir was the Norfolk County Symphonic Wind Band and strings played by staff from the Music Service, conducted by Ashley Grote – Master of Music, Norwich Cathedral.
