Norfolk Centre for Young Musicians (NCYM) is the flagship Saturday Music Centre of Norfolk Music Hub working in partnership with the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, and City of Norwich School – An Ormiston Academy. As part of the centre’s expansion and development of the service we are seeking a tutor for the following post:

Music Appreciation Tutor

Start date: ASAP. Saturdays, 9.30 – 11.30am
Pay rate: £32.00 per hour, freelance
Location: City of Norwich School

This role is to support NCYM students taking music GCSE and A level. The content will be based on the Edexcel syllabus and aims to cover and enrich all aspects of this. NCYM students already have strong performance/vocal skills and the class will aim to help students utilise these skills to broaden understanding of musical concepts required for GCSE/A level.

Opportunities for staff to take part in ensemble coaching are also available as part of the developing work of the centre.

The NCYM operates on 30 Saturdays of the academic year at City of Norwich School. Although a deputy system is in place to cover exceptional circumstances and illness, tutors are expected to attend each week.

This position is offered on a freelance basis and all applicants will be subject to a fully enhanced DBS check and safeguarding training.
