On Saturday 2nd July, musicians from Lewisham & Bexley Music Services will join Norfolk Music Service’s Symphonic Wind Band in a Concert Band Spectacular! The event is part of the Young Norfolk Arts Festival and is free to attend. With individual band performances of traditional and modern concert band music, plus a massed band finale come and hear over 100 performers playing concert band music at its best.

This isn’t the first time young musicians from Bexley have visited Norfolk. A few years ago members of the Bexley Youth Band/Orchestra played with the Norfolk Intermediate Youth Orchestra, and we are looking forward to welcoming them again.

Several of the Norfolk Music Service staff also have links with Lewisham Music Service, including Simon Suter, brass tutor, who worked in Lewisham before moving to Norfolk. Ian Chopping, Senior Manager at Norfolk Music Service, also used to live in south-east London and was approached by Lewisham Music Service to link up the three concert bands in one performance. “It will be a heart-warming occasion for me to welcome young players and colleagues from those Music Services to Norfolk.” – Ian Chopping.
