Virtual Big Sing logo

Music Education Hubs from across the country are invited take part in our Virtual Big Sing 2021!

Following the success of last year’s event and our lockdown pantomime which streamed to over 200,000 children and young people, VBS2021 aims to expand the provision and reach even further featuring an exciting mix of world-renowned artists and musicians from across the globe.

We have again partnered with CharangaNYMAZ and this year welcome Music For Youth and Viking Sound and Lighting to bring an interactive, digital concert to every young person in the country and this year we will be streaming from the famous Abbey Road Studios, featuring live Q&A sessions with each artist along with some special guests. We will also be expanding the project to offer two performances which will increase opportunities and accessibility for the different key stages and settings that we work with.

About the performances

On July 1st 2021 we will be hosting 2 interactive concerts – complex needs settings will be invited to both performances. The events themselves will last a maximum of 90 minutes. We have created a comprehensive set of resources to sit alongside the project including vocal, instrumental and movement to create a very personalised and engaging musical experience that pupils will never forget!

We will be releasing details of all artists taking part in due course, but we can confirm that the guests are really awesome… and even bigger than last year, representing a variety of genres, so the event is definitely not one to be missed! We are also adding an interactive Q&A session with all the artists giving children and young people the chance to communicate with the artists in a safe environment.

We have selected a fantastic arrangement of songs and everyone is invited to tune-in and join us for two exciting live events:

VBS2021 Secondary: 11.00am Thursday 1st July 2021
VBS2021 Primary: 1.30pm Thursday 1st July 2021

Become a VBS2021 Hub Partner

We are keen for as many Hubs and Services as possible to share in this exciting musical opportunity for all our children and young people. A number of Music Education Hubs have already shown great interest with the project, however formal agreements have yet to be drawn up.

Partner Music Education Hubs will be asked to financially support the project this time round enabling the reach of VBS2021 to be even greater than last year. A financial contribution of £2,000.00 per partner hub will be sought in advance of a partnership agreement being drawn up which will gain access to the event itself, access to all pre-event training and a full set of resources and materials/schemes of work to accompany the event. Following the event, a full breakdown of the viewing figures will be sent to each registered Music Education Hub for use in annual reporting alongside a breakdown to coincide with Core Role 4 of the National Plan for Music Education.
