Congratulations to So Laissez Faire and Maisie Mae who have won performance slots at two UK festivals this summer!

We have been running a songwriting competition throughout the year for young musicians. All  were invited to upload their original music to online platform Songwriter and the entries were judge by professional musicians and songwriters. We were delighted with the high quality of the entries and the amount of young people writing original music in Norfolk.

The winners are…

Maisie Mae

Maisie is a 14 year old singer songwriter from Horsford. After overcoming a spate of bullying, she uploaded a video of herself singing that got such an uplifting response that she gained the confidence to enter into a national competition. She won the showcase award and was offered a place on an artist development course. Her songwriting ability really shone and she is working hard in London to learn more. She is progressing in her music by continuing to learn the piano. Maisie has had her songs played on UK and worldwide radio, including BBC Introducing. With lots of performances and events lined up, Maisie is one to watch! Music really is therapy.

Maisie has been attending our Saturday Skool sessions in Norwich.

Maisie Mae will be performing on the Access Creative College stage at Latitude Festival on Friday 19th July.

So Laissez Faire

So Laissez Faire is a young duet, consisting of singer Charlotte Gray and guitarist Brad Secker. The duo have been writing original material together for about 2 years. Their unique, folky-pop style draws from many inspirations from a variety of different genres and they are constantly experimenting with their sound.

So Laissez Faire has been attending our Great Yarmouth Music Making sessions.

So Laissez Faire will be playing at FolkEast on Saturday 17th August.
