We are thrilled to be supporting young singers in this years “Friday Afternoons” project, which will culminate in a “Big Sing” performance at a very special venue in Great Yarmouth on Friday 18th November.

We are looking for approximately 30 enthusiastic young people to join the Young Norfolk Chorus for 4 rehearsals in Norwich, prior to the performance.

On the day of the performance, the young singers will be transported to the Great Yarmouth venue from Norwich by bus, where they will join with a group of 60 children from the Great Yarmouth area to perform the new set of Friday Afternoon songs composed by Jonathan Dove. More details of these pieces and the Friday Afternoons project can be found here.

The songs are brand new, and this experience is an excellent one for any young singer. A chance to experience new music, rehearse, perform and make friends in a fun environment. Rehearsals will take place at The Wharf on the following Tuesday evenings – 25th October, 1st November, 8th November and 15th November. Rehearsal times are 7pm – 8:30pm.

There is no cost to take part in this event, it is completely FREE. Spaces however are limited, so do email to reserve your child’s spot: admin@thewharfacademy.co.uk

The project is run by Aldeburgh Music and the Young Norfolk Chorus will be trained by The Wharf Academy, supported by Norfolk Music Hub & Young Norfolk Arts Trust, who have been awarded a project fund, made possible by a grant from Arts Council England.
