Led by native Bulgarian singer Dessislava Stefanova, former member of the Philip Koutev Bulgarian Folk Ensemble, the London Bulgarian Choir takes us on a journey around Bulgaria, exploring the landscapes of the voice and the creative traditions of this land.

Dessislava Stefanova started classical training aged six, but found an alternative to the formality of communist-style musical education in the Children’s Folk Music & Dance Company.

She has been performing & teaching the distinctive choral music of Bulgaria in the UK since her arrival in 2000. An experienced conductor, soloist & ensemble singer, she has established a career singing for film soundtracks & theatre.

Presented by Music Worldwide, the concert has been made possible with support from Arts Council England and is part of a wider educational outreach project, which Choir leader Dessislava Stefanova has leading with music students from Norwich School.
