Event Details

This Skills Share Day is aimed at any teacher, including SEN/D specialists and music practitioners, who might teach children with additional needs or disabilities and wants to share skills, knowledge and expertise. The day will be a networking opportunity and give an overview of the range of accessible music-making opportunities across Norfolk.

Throughout the day different approaches to accessible music-making will be explored through round-table discussions and workshops, led by facilitators from Laboratory Media Education and Drake Music. The day will also include a working lunch.

You will have the opportunity to share real-life examples from your work and ideas for best practice. You will also be able to try out different kinds of assistive music technology, which enable all young people to participate in making sounds and creating music.

We believe that there is already phenomenal practice of inclusivity in Norfolk and we aim to develop this further by combining the specialisms and strengths of teachers and practitioners working in SEN/D and music within our local communities.
